ABOUT CHUP

[spb_revslider revslider_shortcode=”ABOUT CHUP” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [boxed_content type=”coloured” pb_margin_bottom=”no” width=”1/2″ el_position=”first”]

Chup socks are an unique and colourful product inspired by patterns from around the world. Making the most out of the capability of a stocking frame machine, we weave quality products paying great attention to details on colour and design based on various motifs and patterns.

All the designs are original using beautiful coloured yarns. Despite the various restrictions for production, our aim is to design comfortable socks for our consumers and not sacrificing the pattern of each style.

The low gauge stocking frame machine is a very rare find in Japan. With the intricate designs of each pair of Chup socks, the production efficiency compared to a general machine is limited to producing from a half to one third.

[/boxed_content] [boxed_content type=”coloured” pb_margin_bottom=”no” width=”1/2″ el_position=”last”]

(One machine can produce from 20-25 pairs a day on average) All of the master craftsman carefully inspect the finishing products in order to offer impeccable socks for our customers.

Increasing production efficiency. While maintaing our quality and design principle, we have been studying and developing our operation to extend Chup’s collection by understanding the machines on how they operate to produce Chup socks.

CHUP FALL / WINTER 2013

With deep respect to the world’s tribal cultures, Glen Clyde’s brand “CHUP” has woven in the essence into our daily lives. See how friendly the colors are noticed there are no repetitions in patterns all the way from top to bottom of the sock. They are tough and durable. While they are extremely beautiful, they are highly functional.

GLEN CLYDE X SEA ISLAND COTTON

[fullwidth_text alt_background=”none” width=”1/2″ el_position=”first”]

Introducing Sea Island Cotton to our family,we have produced casual socks strongly focusing ther quality of the cotton and all Made in Japan. In addition,we are setting in motion for each product to be’Hand Linked Toe’.

“Sea island cotton” is one of the best cotton in the world only produced in very limited area of the Caribbean Sea. In Japan, only members of West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association are allowed to deal with the cotton. Glen Clyde became a member of the association in May 2012, which enabled us to realize our long cherished dream, that is, producing “made in Japan” casual socks made of “sea island cotton”.

[/fullwidth_text] [fullwidth_text alt_background=”none” width=”1/2″ el_position=”last”]

Since this had never been tried in Japan there were no data of know-how on the thickness of yarns, dyeing, twisted yarns, knitting machines, under threads, density and so on. After much trial and error, we finally succeeded in creating the first casual socks ever making the best of the features of “sea island cotton”.

Glen Clyde Sea Island Cotton Collection is the only domestic casual brand using Sea Island Cotton. With unique techniques and design patterns, they fully derive the best from this rare material. Hand-linked stitches provide a luxurious touch when you wear the socks.

An obsession of using raw materials, the craftsman’s skill and technique to create the premium series to its finest quality and comfort. We have taken a different approach to the normal Navajo, and Fair Isle patterns that we’ve grown accustomed to, with our new range of premium Craftsman Chup socks. For this collection, we have created our own yarn by selecting 3 100% Cotton yarn colours and twisted it before production.

Generally, socks are made to wrap around your feet, so the socks are well fitted. In this case, we came up with a concept of having the socks to fit loose for the socks to breathe and not fall down to your ankles. Each time you wash the socks, the texture of the socks become soft and has a similar concept like wearing denim and flannel shirts. The socks are designed slightly larger to allow shrinkage.
